Removal and installation of door glass and window regulators (Skoda Felicia)

Removal

Remove the door interior trim panel (see section Removal and installation interior door trim panels).

Front door glass

1. Loosen the mounting screws, remove the washers, disconnect the inner handle from the actuator rod and remove it from the door.

2. Carefully separate the top edge of the insulating film from the door to provide access to the window regulator mechanism.

3. Lower the glass so that you can access the bolts that secure it to the regulator through a special window in the door frame.



4. Carefully release the lower sealing tape from the window opening and remove it from the door.

5. Remove the four bolts securing the window glass to the window regulator, remove the washers, then lift the glass up and out of the door.

Front door window regulator mechanism

1. Follow the procedures described in paragraphs 2 through 4.





2. The components of the window regulator mechanism are shown in the illustration. Remove the four bolts securing the glass to the window regulator, remove the washers, then lift the glass to the top position and tape it to the door frame.

3. On models equipped with power windows, release the lock and disconnect the power window motor wiring connector.

4. On all models, loosen the nuts securing the regulator assembly to the door frame, remove the washers, then carefully remove the assembly through the hole provided.

Rear door glass

1. Loosen the screws securing the inner handle of the lock, remove the washers, then disconnect the handle from the actuator rod of the lock and remove it from the door.



2. Carefully separate the top edge of the insulating film from the door frame to provide access to the window regulator mechanism.



3. Lower the glass completely, then release the lower window opening sealing strip from the door frame.



4. Loosen the screws securing the guide channel to the door, then remove the guide channel assembly with the fixed rear window glass from the door frame.


5. Use a marker to trace around the perimeter of the washers that secure the glass to the window regulator bolts.



6. Loosen the glass mounting bolts, remove the washers, then lift the glass up and remove it from the door frame.

Rear door window regulator mechanism

1. The components of the window regulator mechanism are shown in the illustration. Perform the procedures described in paragraphs 2 through 4.



2. Use a marker to trace the washers of the bolts that secure the window glass to the window regulator.

3. Unscrew the bolts securing the glass to the regulator, remove the washers, then lift the glass to the upper position and tape it to the door frame.

4. Loosen the nuts securing the regulator assembly to the door frame, remove the washers, then carefully remove the assembly through the provided hole.

Installation

Installation is carried out in reverse order. Please note the following points:

• a) Ensure that the sealing tapes of the window openings are installed correctly;
• b) When installing the glass, make sure it is seated correctly in the guide grooves. Tighten the bolts securing the glass to the regulator securely;
• c) Before reinstalling the insulation film and the door interior trim panel (see section Removal and installation interior door trim panels), check the correct operation of the window lifter. If necessary, minor adjustments can be made by loosening the mounting bolts and adjusting the position of the glass on the regulator.
