Removal
Assembling the lock
1. Open the tailgate. Remove the interior trim panel and insulation film from the tailgate to gain access to the lock assembly. The lock assembly components are shown in the illustration.
2. Disconnect the actuator rod from the lock button. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the lock switch.
3. Remove the mounting bolts and remove the lock assembly from the door.

Lock button
1. Open the tailgate. Separate the interior trim panel and insulation film from the door to provide access to the lock button assembly.
2. Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the metal bracket installed above the button.
3. Disconnect the actuator rod from the button and remove the button mounting retainer.
4. Remove the mounting screws and remove the lock button assembly from the tailgate.

5. If necessary, remove the retaining ring from the back of the lock cylinder, remove the washer and sealing ring, then release the cylinder from the trim panel - be careful not to drop the pushbutton springs.

Castle striker
1. Open the tailgate. Loosen the mounting screws/release the clips, then separate the door sill trim panel from the body and remove it from the vehicle.
2. Remove the mounting bolts and remove the striker plate from the vehicle. On models equipped with a remote tailgate release, you will need to disconnect the drive cable from the striker.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Check the proper functioning of the lock assembly components, only then proceed to install the insulating film and the door interior trim panel. If necessary, adjust the position of the striker.
Adjustment
The striker of the lock must securely hold the door when it is slammed. If necessary, remove the threshold trim panel, then loosen the mounting screws and adjust the position of the striker accordingly. Once satisfied, tighten the mounting screws to the required force. On models equipped with a remote door release drive, ensure that the striker plate lever rests against its stop and that there is a slight slack in the cable. If necessary, loosen the lock nut and adjust the cable tension by turning the adjuster. Once satisfied, lock the adjuster and tighten the lock nut securely. Check the proper functioning of the lock and its remote release drive, then replace the interior trim panel.
