Castle striker
1. Open the tailgate. Remove the fixing screws / release the clips, then separate the door sill trim panel from the body and remove it from the vehicle.
2. Turn out fixing bolts and remove from the car a plate of a drummer of the lock. On models equipped with a remote drive for unlocking the tailgate, you will have to disconnect the drive cable from the drummer.
Installation
Installation is in the reverse order. Check the proper functioning of the components of the lock assembly, only after that proceed with the installation of the insulating film and the door interior trim panel. If necessary, correct the position of the drummer.
Adjustment
The striker of the lock must securely fix the door when it slams shut. If necessary, remove the sill trim panel, then loosen the mounting screws and adjust the striker position accordingly. After achieving a satisfactory result, tighten the fixing screws to the required torque. On models equipped with a remote door release, make sure that the striker plate lever rests against its limiter, and there is a slight slack in the cable. If necessary, loosen the lock nut and adjust the cable tension by turning the adjuster. When you have achieved the desired result, fix the regulator and tighten the locknut firmly. Check the operation of the lock and its remote unlocking drive, then reinstall the interior upholstery panel.
