1. Release the wire fasteners located around the perimeter of the upper air cleaner housing cover.

... carefully lift the cover, ensuring free access to the filter element. Try not to move the air cleaner housing while removing the cover.
3. Remove the filter element from the air cleaner housing.
4. Remove dust and small debris from the air cleaner housing (try to keep dirt out of the throttle body neck). Wipe the inside surfaces of the air cleaner housing and cover.
5. Install the replacement filter element in accordance with the mounting marking.
6. Close the air cleaner cover, screw in the three mounting bolts and tighten them to the required torque.
7. Snap the side lid latches into place.
Models 1.3 with MPFI and 1.6 l
1. Release the four wire fasteners located around the perimeter of the upper air cleaner housing cover.
2. Now the cover can be lifted enough to allow the filter element to be removed from the air cleaner housing - try to remember the installation position of the latter.
3. If more working space is required, use suitable pliers to squeeze the legs of the spring clamp securing the air intake sleeve to the upper cover. Disconnect the sleeve from the cover pipe and remove the cover from the housing. Alternatively, remove the cover together with the throttle body cover.
4. Remove dust and small debris from the air cleaner housing.
5. Install the replacement filter element in accordance with the mounting marking. Make sure that the edges of the filter are securely seated.
6. Replace the top cover and secure it with four wire clips. If removed, connect the air intake hose to the cover. Secure the hose with a spring clamp. If removed, do not disconnect the hose (together with the throttle body cover), refer to the materials of the Chapter Power supply system.
