Note. Due to the responsibility of the procedure, it would be better to entrust its implementation to a qualified mechanic at a service station.
1. Bring the piston of the first cylinder to the TDC position (see Section Bringing the piston of the first cylinder to the top dead center position (TDC)).
2. Unscrew the plug on the injection pump and insert the adapter and plunger-type dial gauge into the hole. Rotate the crankshaft 90°in the opposite direction from normal. Zero the meter.
1 - Locknut; 2 - Adjusting screw; 3 - Rope tip; 4 - Locknut; 5 - Place for measuring the size X of the injection timing adjustment
3. Turn the crankshaft in the normal direction until the TDC marks match. The meter should record the value X + 0.15 mm. Dimension X is marked on the injection pump fuel lever.
4. If the measurement result differs from the specified, loosen the pump flange mounting bolts and turn the latter in the appropriate direction, achieving the required value.
5. Repeat the test.
6. At the end of the work, unscrew the adapter and replace the plug with a new washer.
