Attention! The timing belt must be in good condition, since at maximum engine speeds the load on the belt also increases significantly. Remember that a broken belt can cause serious irreversible damage to the cylinder head.

Maximum revolutions



1. Start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.

2. Make sure the parking brake is securely engaged and the transmission control lever is in neutral. Ask an assistant to depress the accelerator pedal all the way.

3. Use a special tachometer for diesel engines to measure the maximum speed. Compare the measurement result with the requirements Specifications.

Caution! Do not keep the engine at maximum speed for more than two to three seconds continuously.


4. If adjustment is necessary, remove the wire…


4. If adjustment is necessary, remove the wire lock and protective cap from the adjusting screw. Loosen the lock nut and turn the screw to make the necessary adjustment.



5. Make sure the value is set correctly, then tighten the lock nut securely. Replace the protective cap and wire lock.

Idle speed



The idle speed is adjusted using the adjusting screw (2). The screw is locked from rotation by a lock nut.
