The cooling unit can only operate when the [AC] button is pressed (1) and the following conditions are met:
- the engine is on;
- outdoor air temperature exceeds +2°С;
- fan switch in position 1-4.
When the air conditioner is turned on, the temperature and relative humidity of the air inside the car are lowered. Therefore, at high relative humidity and high outside temperatures, the feeling of comfort in the car increases - in the cold season, fogging of the windows is prevented.
Thermal conductivity depends on the temperature of the coolant. This means that full heat output can only be achieved after the engine has warmed up.
For the sake of increasing the cooling effect, it is possible to dial the air recirculation mode for a short time.
If the cooling is switched on, air with a temperature of approx. 5°C. In case of prolonged and uneven distribution of the air coming out of the blower nozzles (especially on the feet) and large temperature differences, e.g. when getting out of a car, sensitive persons may catch a cold.
In order for the heating and ventilation system to work flawlessly, the outside air intake in front of the windshield must not be blocked by ice, snow or leaves.
If the cooling is turned on, then condensation moisture may drip from the air conditioner case, forming a puddle under the car. This is normal and is not a sign of a leak!
Attention.
- For the sake of traffic safety, it is important that there are no ice and snow on the glass of any windows and that the glass does not fog up. Familiarize yourself thoroughly with the correct way to control heating and ventilation, dehumidification and defrosting of windows, as well as cooling.
- Never use the air recirculation mode for a long time, as there is no fresh air from outside and "consumed" air can be tiring, distracting, and can also cause windows to fog up. This may increase the risk of an accident. As soon as the windows begin to fog up, immediately turn off the air recirculation mode.
Note. When the air recirculation is on, it is recommended not to smoke inside the car, because the smoke sucked in from the interior of the car is deposited on the air conditioner evaporator. This, during the operation of the air conditioner, leads to a constant smell inside the car, which can be eliminated only with great effort and high costs for replacing the evaporator conditioner.
