The cooling device can only operate when the [AC] button (1) is pressed and the following conditions are met:
- engine on;
- the outside air temperature exceeds +2°C;
- fan switch in position 1-4.
When the air conditioner is on, the temperature and relative humidity inside the car decrease. Therefore, with high relative humidity and high outside temperatures, the feeling of comfort in the car increases - in the cold season, fogging of the windows is prevented.
Thermal performance depends on the coolant temperature. This means that full thermal performance can only be achieved after the engine has warmed up.
To increase the cooling effect, it is possible to briefly activate the air recirculation mode.
If the cooling is switched on, air at a temperature of approximately 5°C may come out of the blower nozzles under certain conditions. In the case of prolonged and uneven distribution of the air coming out of the blower nozzles (especially on the feet) and a large temperature difference, for example when getting out of the car, sensitive persons may catch a cold.
To ensure that the heating and ventilation system operates properly, the outside air intake hatch located in front of the windshield must be kept free of ice, snow or leaves.
If the cooling is on, condensation moisture may drip from the air conditioner housing, forming a puddle under the car. This is normal and does not indicate a leak!
Attention.
- For the sake of road safety, it is important that no windows are covered with ice or snow and that the windows do not fog up. Become thoroughly familiar with the correct way to control heating and ventilation, drying and defrosting of windows, as well as cooling.
- Never use the air recirculation mode for a long time, as there is no fresh air flow from outside and the "used up" air can be tiring, distracting and can also lead to fogging of the windows. As a result, the risk of an accident may increase. As soon as the windows begin to fog up, immediately turn off the air recirculation mode.
Note: When air recirculation is on, it is recommended not to smoke inside the car, because the smoke sucked in from the interior of the car settles on the air conditioner evaporator. This leads to a constant smell inside the car during air conditioning operation, which can only be eliminated with great effort and high costs for replacing the air conditioner evaporator.
