General information
Air conditioner (K/V) is a combined device that allows you to adjust the temperature and humidity in the car in a wide range. With the help of A/C inside the car, a comfortable atmosphere can be maintained at any time of the year.
In the cooling mode, A/C functions only when the engine is on and at an ambient temperature above +5°C. Simultaneously with the temperature, the relative humidity of the air enclosed in the cabin also decreases, which makes it possible to increase the comfort of conditions in wet weather.
Control Panel
Air direction knob (A)
This knob selects the direction of air distribution between the air ducts of the interior heating/ventilation system.
Knob for selecting the speed mode of the fan operation / blocking the air intake (IN)
With the help of this handle, the flow of air injected into the passenger compartment is regulated. The handle has five discrete positions (0, I, II, III and IIII). In position 0 of the handle, the fan is off. If it is necessary to prevent the entry of gassed or foul-smelling air into the passenger compartment, press button E (button for turning on the closed circulation mode - see below)
The handle for adjusting the temperature of the air supplied to the passenger compartment (WITH)
In the extreme left position, the heater is switched off. A smooth increase in the temperature of the forced air is carried out by turning the handle clockwise. The knob can be used to increase the air temperature correction even when the air conditioner is on.
Air conditioner button (D)
Turning on the A/C is possible only when the engine is running. Pressing the button again turns off the air conditioner.
Button for turning on the air circulation mode (E)
When the closed circulation mode is turned on, the supply of outside air to the passenger compartment stops completely. The mode can be used both when the A/C is on and off. In the latter, the air, as a result of turning on the mode, quickly becomes stale, and condensation forms on the glasses.
Duct deflectors
The location, purpose and equipment of the deflectors are similar to those described above for models not equipped with A/C.
The mode of blowing the windshield and side windows when they are frosted over
Move the handle B of the control panel to position IIII. Set handle A to position . Turn handle C all the way to the right. Close the shutters of the air duct deflectors 3. Turn the louvre grilles of the air duct deflectors 4 in such a way that the air escapes in the direction of the windows of the front doors of the car.
Prevention of fogging of the windshield and side windows
With high air humidity (rain, fog, etc.) car windows tend to fog up.
To remove condensate, turn in cold weather, proceed as described above for models not equipped with A/C. To speed up the process, turn on the closed air circulation mode (button E).
In hot weather, the simultaneous activation of the air conditioner and heater contributes to the rapid dehumidification of the air. Selecting closed circulation mode will speed up the process.
Accelerated interior heating
See above for models not equipped with A/C. To speed up the process, turn on the closed air circulation mode (button E).
Creating comfortable temperature conditions in the car
After removing condensation from the windows and warming up the interior, make the following settings:
Turn knob B to position II or III. Use knob C to select the required capacity of the heater heat exchanger. Set handle A to position . If the windows fog up again, change the position of the handle A, directing the air to blow the windows. Shut off the air duct deflectors 3. Rotate the louvre grilles of the air duct deflectors 4 to the optimal position of your choice.
Optimal interior air cooling mode
Turn the knob in the control panel to position II or III (Optimum air delivery performance for interior air cooling), or to position IIII if necessary to speed up the process. Turn handle C all the way to the left.
Note. Depending on the specific conditions, the discharge air temperature can be increased by adjusting the position of the handle accordingly.
Move handle A to position . Open the shutters of the air deflectors 3 and 4. By pressing the button D, turn on the A/C. The direction of flow through the baffles can be adjusted to suit the operator.
In this mode, pre-cooled outside air is supplied to the passenger compartment.
The mode of the accelerated cooling of air in salon
Shut the doors tightly, close all windows and the overhead hatch. Turn the fan on for maximum performance (handle B - in position IIII). Turn handle C all the way to the left. Move handle A to position . Open dampers of air duct deflectors 3 and 4. Turn on A/C (button D) and set the closed air circulation mode (button E).
In this mode, the supply of outside air to the passenger compartment stops completely, and the air closed in the passenger compartment is quickly cooled, circulating through the air conditioner heat exchanger.
Note. The closed circulation mode should be used only for a short time, as the air quickly becomes stale. It is recommended to refrain from smoking during the activation of the mode.
Cabin ventilation mode
To ventilate the passenger compartment, outside air must be supplied to it through air duct deflectors 3 and 4.
Turn off K/V (button D) and turn off the closed air circulation mode (button E). Use knob B to select the desired fan speed. Turn handle C all the way to the left. Move handle A to position , or another, based on the specific situation. Open the air supply through air duct deflectors 3 and 4.
General instructions
Attention! A properly functioning air conditioner is able to cool the air injected into the passenger compartment up to a temperature of + 5°С. At the same time, long-term uneven supply (e.g. footwells only) and temperature contrast (e.g. when getting out of a car) can cause colds in people sensitive to temperature changes.
With the A/C turned on and a certain relative humidity of the air, the condensate formed on the surface of the system evaporator can drain from the pallet, forming a puddle under the car, the appearance of which is quite natural, is not a sign of a system leak and should not cause panic.
The proper functioning of the heating / ventilation system of the elephant is possible only if the section of the air intake grill located in front of the windshield of the car is normal. Monitor the condition of the grate, from time to time clean it from snow, ice, stuck leaves and other debris.
All handles of the control panel, with the exception of handles A and B, allow smooth adjustment of the parameters under control.
Economical use of the air conditioner
The operation of the compressor included in the A/C cooling mode leads to an increase in the load on the engine and, as a result, an increase in fuel consumption.
When the interior is overheated (e.g. after the car has been parked for a long time in direct sunlight) the compilers of this Guide recommend that before turning on the A/C, open the doors or windows for a short while, releasing hot air outside.
Do not use A/C while the car is moving with the windows or the top hatch open.
If it is possible to achieve a comfortable temperature in the cabin by using only the ventilation system, it is recommended to refrain from turning on the air conditioner.
