Note.
- The fuel pressure sender -G247- is located in the fuel distributor and measures the actual fuel pressure in the high pressure system and sends a voltage signal to the engine control unit -J623-.
- In the event of a sensor failure, the pressure is adjusted according to data from the data field. loaded in the control unit l vigagel; (in engine emergency mode, the maximum speed is limited to 3000 rpm).
Note.
- Necessary special devices, control and measuring devices, as well as auxiliary means:
- Cleaning and degreasing agent, e.g. -D 009 401 04-.
- Protective goggles and gloves.
Removing
Note. When working on the power supply system, safety precautions must be observed.
1. Remove the top decorative engine cover.
Attention. Wear protective gloves and goggles when working with the degreaser!
2. Before removing, clean the threaded area around the fuel pressure sender -G247- with a degreasing agent so that no dirt can get into the opening of the fuel rail.
Note. The degreaser must not get into the wiring harness connector: clean carefully.
3. Dry fuel pressure sender -G247-.
4. Disconnect connector from wiring harness for fuel pressure sender -G247-.
Attention. The fuel pressure sensor must not be loosened with an open end wrench or a ring wrench - risk of damage!
5. Unscrew fuel pressure sender -G247-. Use a long socket wrench.
6. Suck out dirt from the fuel rail opening (thread and sealing surface). Do not use mechanical tools for this.
Note. The fuel rail opening must be closed immediately with a suitable plug to prevent the entry of contaminants.
Installation
Note.
- The fuel pressure sender -G247- does not have a sealing ring, but a special sealing lip.
- Follow that. so as not to damage the sealing surfaces (sealing with a special sealing lip) and thread of new fuel pressure sender -G247-. Fuel pressure sender -G247- can be reused.
- Also check the sealing surface of the fuel rail opening.
Attention. The fuel pressure sender must not be tightened with an open end wrench or ring wrench - risk of damage!
1. Tighten the fuel pressure sender -G247- by hand.
2. The sensor should be tightened completely.
3. Check the tightness of the power system.
