Removing
1. Jack up the front of the vehicle and support it securely on axle stands.
2. Remove the rear motor mount from the cross member.
3. Unscrew the engine/transmission ground strap from the cross member.
4. Remove the outlet pipes (Section 4).
5. Disconnect the shift rod from the transmission (Section 7).
6. Remove the steering gear mounting bolts from the top of the cross member, and support the steering gear (Chapter 18).
7. Loosen the hinge clamps at the rear of the lower suspension arm, then loosen the front hinge nuts. and remove the bolts; separate the lever from the cross member.
8. Turn off bolts of forward fastening of a crossbar (see photo), and lower the crossbar down.
Installation
9. Install in the reverse order of removal paying attention to the following:
- A) Raise the crossbar, positioning it on the large ledge in the bottom (see photo), then install the front mounting bolts.
- b) All fasteners should only be lightly tightened at first until the suspension is assembled and the vehicle is on the ground.
- c) When the car is on wheels, rock it so that the suspension components are properly in place, then tighten all the disturbed nuts and bolts with the tightening torque specified specifications.
- d) After performing such work, it is necessary to check the wheel alignment (Chapter 21).
