The gear shift pattern is shown on the top of the manual transmission control lever handle.
Reverse gear can only be engaged after the vehicle has come to a complete stop. If the engine is running, reverse gear can only be selected after a sufficiently long pause, during which the clutch pedal must be kept fully depressed.
Selecting reverse gear with the ignition on causes the white indicator lights of the rear combination lamps to come on.
Caution! Do not keep your hand on the manual transmission control lever handle while the vehicle is moving. The pressure created by your hand is transferred to the gear shift fork, which can lead to premature wear of the latter.
