The switches for controlling the operation of the…

The switches for controlling the operation of the electric window lifters are located on the center console behind the manual transmission control lever (see accompanying illustration). The left key switch lowers and raises the left front door window. The right key switch raises and lowers the right front door window. The window lifter operates only when the ignition is on, but continues to function for about 10 minutes after it is turned off.

Both windows open automatically by briefly holding the corresponding switch key in position (2) (see illustration). Pressing the button again immediately stops the window from lowering.

When the button is pressed momentarily, the window opens approximately 15 cm.

Closing the windows is done in a similar way, but this time the keys should be pressed to position (1). All other features of the drive operation are retained.

When connecting the battery after disconnecting it, it is necessary to adjust the upper position of the glass. If the window is closed, you should press the button of the corresponding switch and hold it in position (1) for about 3 seconds. If the window is open, you should close it by briefly pressing the switch, and then hold the key in position (1) for 3 seconds.

In winter, lowering and raising the windows is done with increased resistance, which is explained by the formation of frost or ice crust on the glass. The glass may stop and return to its original position. To successfully close the window in such a situation, press the corresponding switch key to position (1) and hold it there (ignition on). If the glass stops again, try again. The pause between individual pressings of the key should not exceed 5 seconds. Moreover, no other operations are allowed during it.

Warning! The system is equipped with a safety device that prevents injury if the glass accidentally presses against a part of the body. If the glass encounters resistance to movement, it stops and then lowers back by about 5 cm. However, observe basic safety precautions. When staying inside a parked car, do not forget that about 10 minutes after the ignition is turned off, the ability to control the position of the windows ceases.
