General description of the heating and ventilation system (Skoda Favorit)
3. The heater is equipped with a supercharger with three speed modes. The supercharger is mounted on the bulkhead on the engine side. The ventilation deflectors are located in the center and in the end sections of the dashboard, the air ducts are installed in the niches for the driver's and front passenger's feet. Sliding levers with backlighting, regulating the air temperature and its distribution through the air ducts, are located (together with the heater blower switch) in the center of the instrument panel. The levers control the flaps that direct the air flowing through the heater through various channels. Outside (cold) air enters the system through a grille in the rear part of the hood. Its flow is amplified when required by the radial screw of the supercharger, then fresh air flows through the air ducts into the passenger compartment, according to the setting of the control levers. The exhaust air is discharged from the passenger compartment through special channels located in its rear part. If it is necessary to heat the supplied fresh air, it is passed through the heater matrix, through the tubes of which the hot coolant coming from the engine circulates.
