Removal
1. In the engine compartment, open the throttle valve and release the cable end from the sector, then separate the cable housing from the mounting/adjustment bracket (see illustrations).

2. While working in the cabin, release the cable housing from the fork at the top of the pedal.
3. Reach the cable into the engine compartment and remove it.
Installation
4. Install in the reverse order of removal; adjust the cable as follows.
Adjustment
5. The cable should be installed so that when the gas pedal is fully released, there is a slight slack in the cable and the throttle valve is fully closed. Ask an assistant to press the pedal all the way down and make sure that the throttle valve opens fully and returns to its original position after releasing the pedal.
6. Adjustment is made by moving the bracket on the cable housing in the mounting/adjustment bracket.
