Rear Bumper Installation Components

Typical rear bumper installation components are shown in the illustration.
Removal
1. Open the tailgate. Pry off the decorative caps and loosen the upper rear bumper mounting nuts. Remove the washers.

2. If necessary, to ensure better access, support the front wheels with wedges, then jack up the rear of the car and place it on supports.
3. Loosen the side mounting nuts under the car, as well as the nuts that secure the bumper base to the car body. There is no need to completely remove the nuts, since the mounting holes are oval.
4. With the help of an assistant, release the ends of the bumper from the side supports and remove the assembly from the vehicle.

Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Make sure that the fasteners are tightened securely.
