Removing
1. Firmly apply the parking brake, then jack up the front of the vehicle and support it on jack stands.
2. Loosen the bolts securing the drive belt pulley to the steering pump, then loosen the belt and slip it off the pulley. Now turn out the fixing bolts and remove the pulley from the pump, trying to remember its installation position.
3. Using special clamps or clamps, pinch the supply and feed hoses near the steering pump reservoir in order to minimize hydraulic fluid loss.
4. Loosen the fixing screw and remove the feed tube clamp from the support bracket (if provided).
5. Release the clamp and disconnect the supply hose from the pump, then unscrew the nipple bolt and disconnect the supply hose. Prepare a drain pan to collect spilled liquid. Seal open ends of hoses/pipes immediately to minimize fluid loss and prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system. Remove the sealing washers from the hydraulic tube union.
Note. During assembly, the sealing washers must be replaced without fail.
6. Turn out bolts of fastening of the pump and take the last from a mounting bracket.
7. The pump is made in the form of a sealed assembly and is not subject to refurbishment. In case of failure, replace.
Installation
1. Start the pump in its regular place, screw in the mounting bolts and tighten them with the required force.
2. Install new sealing washers on both sides of the supply tube nipple, then screw in the nipple bolt. Make sure the connector is properly mated and securely tighten the nipple bolt.
3. Connect the supply tube to the pump, securing it securely with a clamp. The hose clamps can now be removed.
4. Establish the steering pump on basic arms, screw fixing bolts and tighten them with the demanded effort.
5. Reinstall the pump pulley while only loosely tightening the mounting bolts. Adjust the belt tension, then finally tighten the pulley mounting bolts.
6. In conclusion "pump" hydraulic system (see Section Removal of air pockets from the hydraulic path of the power steering system).
