All models
The vehicle comes standard with two keys that fit all locks.
Attention! When leaving the car, even for a short time, do not forget to remove the key from the ignition!
On models with a lockable glove box, a small glove box key is also supplied with the master keys.
Attached to one of the master keys is a metal key ring with an identification number stamped on it. By this number, in case of loss of keys in the Skoda branded service center, you can order a new set.
Note. The key fob should be stored in a safe place, preferably outside the vehicle. Don't forget to hand over the key fob to the new owner in case the car is resold.
Models equipped with an anti-theft system
Anti-theft equipped models come with two remote controls (DU) (A), two special design ignition keys with built-in engine immobilizer deactivation microchip (IN) and a metal plate with a code number (WITH). The description of the principle of functioning of the anti-theft system is given in the next subsection.
Engine Immobilizer
The anti-theft system may include an engine immobilization device that prevents unauthorized persons from starting it. A microchip with a given electronic code is mounted in the head of the ignition key of a car equipped with such a device. When the correct key is entered into the ignition lock, the engine control unit is activated and the latter becomes possible to start.
The rules for handling this type of key are the same as for standard keys (see above).
Single lock
Using the remote control, you can unlock or lock all four side doors of the car at the same time.
Locks can be activated:
- From the outside, with a key;
- From the inside of the car, the button to turn off the lock of the left or right front door;
- Using the remote control (in the case of models equipped with an anti-theft alarm).
Readers should pay attention to the following points:
With the help of the lock off button located on the driver's door of the car, unwanted locking of this door without using a key can be prevented; The rear door release buttons do not activate the single lock system functions and only serve to lock or release the latches of the respective door locks.
Attention! By pressing the button to turn off the lock of the driver or front passenger door, all side doors of the car are locked at the same time, therefore, young children should not be left in the car unattended.
Locking the doors allows you to avoid their spontaneous opening in an emergency, and also prevents unauthorized persons from forcibly entering the passenger compartment during a stop at a traffic light. On the other hand, locking the doors prevents entry into the passenger compartment in order to provide emergency medical care in traffic accidents.
Using a single lock, visually check the correct operation of the locks by the position of the door lock release buttons.
Locking and unlocking the doors of models equipped with a single lock system and additionally equipped with an anti-theft alarm can be done using the remote control (DU), which simultaneously activates or deactivates the sound / light alarm device itself.
The single lock system is not designed to control the lock of the tailgate/tailgate, which can only be unlocked or locked from the outside using the master key (see below).
Anti-theft alarm
The anti-theft alarm acts as an additional protection for the car from attempts to penetrate it by unauthorized persons. The horn siren is installed on the right side of the vehicle's engine compartment, near the battery. In the passenger compartment, to the left and right of the instrument panel, ultrasonic sensors are installed. In the middle, at the bottom of the windshield, there is a system control unit equipped with an LED.
The system monitors the following vehicle parameters:
- Interior space of the salon;
- The condition of the side doors;
- Condition of the tailgate;
- Condition of the engine compartment hood;
- On-board network voltage.
The alarm is triggered:
- When you try to open any of the side doors;
- When trying to open the tailgate;
- When trying to open the hood;
- In the presence of movement in the internal volume of the cabin;
- When exposed to a car with blows or shocks;
- When turning on energy-intensive consumers, for example, when trying to start the engine;
- When trying to dismantle the anti-theft device;
- When the battery is disconnected.
Sound alarm (siren up to 25 seconds) accompanied by flashing direction indicators. If, after 25 seconds, a second attempt is made to break into the car, the alarm will work again.
The anti-theft alarm is activated using the system's main switch controlled by the ignition key.
The need to turn off the alarm with a key may arise in the event of a failure of the remote control battery, or when repairing electrical equipment.
When the alarm is turned on from the remote control, the control functions of the system are activated. The alarm is turned off by pressing the remote control button again.
The remote control allows you to activate and deactivate the anti-theft alarm, as well as unlocking and locking a single lock from a distance of up to 10 m.
Attention! Activation / deactivation of the anti-theft alarm by locking / unlocking the doors with the key is not possible!
The main switch of the anti-theft system
The main switch of the anti-theft alarm system is located on the side wall of the alarm device placed in the casing. Remove the protective cap from the device lock and activate/deactivate the alarm with the ignition key. System activated in key position (2) and disabled in position (1). The fact of activation of the system is confirmed by four short-term operation of direction indicators. After turning off the system, do not forget to put a protective cap on the main switch lock. The ignition key should be stored with the car keys so that in the event of a remote control failure, the alarm can be deactivated via the system's main switch.
Before disconnecting the battery, the anti-theft alarm must be disabled. Main switch.
Remote control
Joint control of the anti-theft alarm and a single lock seems to be possible only from the remote control.
The individuality of the remote control and the receiver of the system is ensured by a special coding of the frequency range. This excludes the possibility of triggering the system from the remote control of another car.
The remote control is powered by two batteries. When the system begins to respond to signals sent from the remote control only at a distance of less than 3 meters, it is necessary to change the batteries.
When the remote control button is pressed for 2 seconds, the anti-theft alarm is activated, accompanied by 4-fold operation of the direction indicators and a brief double acoustic signal. At the same time, the LED of the control unit of the system starts flashing.
If one of the side doors, the tailgate, or the hood of the engine compartment is not locked, the indicators will work 4 times and an 8-time acoustic signal will sound.
The final activation of the anti-theft system occurs only 25 seconds after the manipulation with the remote control.
Attention! When the remote control button is pressed for about 2 more seconds, the ultrasonic sensors are switched off, which is confirmed by the flashing of the direction indicators and a short acoustic signal. All other system functions remain active. After turning off the ultrasonic sensors, do not hold the button of the remote control pressed for longer, as this will turn on the mode "Panic" (see below).
The system is switched off for a short time (about 1 second) pressing the button on the remote control. At the same time, the direction indicators should flash once and a single acoustic signal will sound. At the same time, the LED of the control unit stops flashing.
Attention! After disabling the anti-theft alarm, the single lock can be activated using the key. If the LED of the control unit continues to flash after turning off the device (alarm memory), this means that during the parking of the car, the system was triggered. The device memory is cleared when the ignition is turned on.
Turn off the alarm
When an anti-theft alarm is triggered, the system can be deactivated by briefly (about 1 second) pressing the button on the remote control. Despite the fact that the alarm is turned off, the system remains in the activated state and to remove it from it, you should press the button again.
Mode "Panic"
When the anti-theft alarm system is activated, if necessary, the mode can be switched on "Panic".
Press the button on the remote control and hold it down for about 5 seconds (It doesn't matter if YOU are inside or outside the car). When the mode is activated, an acoustic signal is switched on for 15 seconds with simultaneous locking of all doors with a single lock.
Disabling the alarm in mode "Panic" does not seem possible. The alarm can be triggered again by moving in the cabin, or by another 5-second pressing of the remote control button.
To get out of the mode "Panic" the anti-theft system should be disabled.
Buttons for deactivating door locks
A Release button
B Handrail door handle
With inner door handle
D Power window handle
From the outside, both front doors of the vehicle can be unlocked and locked using the key. When the door is unlocked, the release button of the lock moves to the upper position, when it is locked, it goes down. The possibility of locking the door from the outside using the lock off button is not provided, which makes it possible to avoid forgetting the key in the ignition lock.
Locking from the outside of the rear doors can be done by slamming them after pressing the lock off button.
From inside the passenger compartment, any of the doors can be locked by pushing the corresponding button to turn off the lock.
Rear door lock device
The locks of the rear doors of the car are equipped with a special device that ensures the passive safety of children in the passenger compartment. The device is activated by moving the control lever to the lower position. In this case, the door can only be unlocked from outside the vehicle.
The release button must be up.
Unlocking and locking the tailgate
The slot of the lock cylinder of the unlocked tailgate is in a horizontal position (A). In order to lock the tailgate, it is necessary to move the slot of the cylinder of its lock to a vertical position (IN).
After unlocking the lock, press the button to turn it off and lift the door. The door is held open by two gas-filled stops.
Closing the tailgate is done by slamming it.
It is possible to unlock the tailgate from the passenger compartment using the control lever located to the left of the driver's seat.
Attention! After locking the tailgate, always check that the latch is secure by pulling the door up. If the door is not tightly closed, it may spontaneously open while driving, even if the lock is locked. Never start driving with the tailgate not tightly closed.
Hinged Tailgate Pickup Models
To open the tailgate, press the button at the top of the tailgate. Hold the board until it is completely lowered. After closing the board, check the reliability of fixing it with a lock. Never start driving with a loose bead.
Attention! Before opening the tailgate of a Pickup equipped with Type 317013 tow hitch, loosen the lock nut and remove the tow ball head from its holder. If the car is equipped with a TMB Co-01 tow hitch, the towbar ball head should be turned down by approximately 110 mm.
Egnition lock
The ignition switch has four main positions: STOP, 0, I and II.
Position "STOP"
In this lock position, the ignition is off, the engine is off, and the steering column lock is activated. The column can be locked by turning the steering wheel with the ignition key removed until the locking device clicks.
Attention! Removing the key from the ignition lock can only be done after the vehicle has come to a complete stop. To prevent loss of steering control due to steering lock operation.
If, after removing the key from the ignition, the parking lights remain on, then when any of the front doors of the car is opened, a signal buzzer will sound.
Position "0"
The ignition system is off, the engine is off, the steering column lock is not activated.
If the key is difficult to turn in the lock in this position, release the lock by turning the steering wheel briefly in both directions.
Position "I"
The ignition/preheat system is on. The control lamp on the instrument panel lights up (see below).
Position "II"
Engine start. When the key is turned to this position, the headlights and other energy-intensive consumers of electricity are turned off.
At the same time, the starter is turned on. The brake fluid level warning light on the instrument panel comes on (in order to check the correct functioning). If the start fails, a second attempt can be made only after the key is returned to the position "0". This eliminates the possibility of damaging the starter when trying to crank an already running engine.
