All models
The car comes standard with two keys that fit all locks.
Attention! When leaving the car even for a short time, do not forget to remove the key from the ignition!
On models with a locking glove box, a small glove box key is also supplied with the master keys.
One of the main keys has a metal keychain with an identification number stamped on it. Using this number, if the keys are lost, a new set can be ordered from a Skoda service center.
Note: The key fob should be kept in a safe place, preferably outside the vehicle. Remember to transfer the key fob to the new owner if you resell the vehicle.
Models equipped with anti-theft system
The models equipped with the anti-theft system are supplied with two remote controls (RC) (A), two special ignition keys with a built-in microchip for disabling the engine immobilizer (B) and a metal plate with a code number (C). The operating principle of the anti-theft system is described in the following subsection.
Engine immobilizer
The anti-theft system may include an engine immobilization device that prevents unauthorized starting by third parties. A microchip with a specified electronic code is built into the ignition key head of a car equipped with such a device. When the correct key is inserted into the ignition switch, the engine control unit is activated and starting the engine becomes possible.
The rules for handling this type of key are the same as for standard keys (see above).
Single lock
Using the remote control, you can unlock or lock all four side doors of the car simultaneously.
Activation of locks can be done:
- From the outside, using a key;
- From the car interior, using the left or right front door lock release button;
- Using the remote control (in the case of models equipped with an anti-theft alarm).
The following points should be brought to the attention of readers:
Using the lock release button located on the driver's door of the car, you can prevent unwanted locking of this door without using the key; The rear door lock release buttons do not activate the single locking system functions and only serve to lock or release the latches of the corresponding doors.
Attention! By pressing the driver's or front passenger door lock release button, all side doors of the car are locked simultaneously, therefore, young children should not be left unattended in the car.
Locking the doors prevents them from opening spontaneously in an emergency situation, and also prevents unauthorized persons from entering the car while stopped at a traffic light. On the other hand, locking the doors prevents entry into the car for the purpose of providing emergency medical assistance in traffic accidents.
When using a single lock, visually check the proper operation of the locks by the position of the door lock release buttons.
Locking and unlocking doors of models equipped with a single locking system and additionally equipped with an anti-theft alarm can be done using a remote control (RC), which simultaneously also activates or deactivates the sound/light alarm device itself.
The single locking system is not designed to control the tailgate/boot lid lock, which can only be unlocked or locked from the outside using the master key (see below).
Anti-theft alarm
The anti-theft alarm serves as an additional protection for the car from attempts by unauthorized persons to enter it. The siren of the sound alarm is installed in the right part of the engine compartment of the car, near the battery. Ultrasonic sensors are installed in the car's interior, to the left and right of the instrument panel. In the middle, at the bottom of the windshield, there is a control unit of the system equipped with a LED.
The system monitors the following vehicle parameters:
- Interior space of the salon;
- Condition of side doors;
- Condition of the tailgate;
- Condition of the engine compartment hood;
- On-board network voltage.
The alarm is triggered:
- When trying to open any of the side doors;
- When trying to open the tailgate;
- When trying to open the hood;
- If there is movement in the interior of the cabin;
- When the vehicle is subjected to impacts or jolts;
- When switching on energy-intensive consumers, for example when trying to start the engine;
- When attempting to dismantle the anti-theft device;
- When disconnecting the battery.
Sound alarm triggering (siren lasting up to 25 seconds) accompanied by flashing direction indicators. If after 25 seconds a second attempt is made to enter the car, the alarm will sound again.
The anti-theft alarm is activated using the main switch of the system, which is controlled by the ignition key.
The need to turn off the alarm with a key may arise in the event of a failure of the remote control battery or when repairing electrical equipment.
When the alarm is turned on using the remote control, the system's control functions are activated. The alarm is turned off by pressing the remote control button again.
The remote control allows you to activate and deactivate the anti-theft alarm, as well as unlock and lock a single lock from a distance of up to 10 m.
Attention! Activation/deactivation of the anti-theft alarm by locking/unlocking the doors with the key is not possible!
Anti-theft system main switch
The main switch of the anti-theft alarm system is located on the side wall of the alarm device placed in the casing. Remove the protective cap from the device lock and activate/deactivate the alarm using the ignition key. The system is activated in key position (2) and deactivated in position (1). The fact of system activation is confirmed by four short-term operation of the direction indicators. After deactivating the system, do not forget to put the protective cap on the main switch lock. The ignition key should be stored together with the car door keys so that in case of remote control failure, it is possible to deactivate the alarm via the main switch of the system.
Before disconnecting the battery, you must turn off the anti-theft alarm. Main switch.
Remote control
Joint control of the anti-theft alarm and the single lock is only possible with the remote control.
The individuality of the remote control and the system receiver is ensured by special coding of the frequency range. This eliminates the possibility of the system being triggered by the remote control of another car.
The remote control uses two batteries as a power source. When the system begins to respond to signals sent from the remote control only at a distance of less than 3 meters, it is necessary to change the batteries.
Pressing the remote control button for 2 seconds activates the anti-theft alarm, accompanied by 4-fold activation of the direction indicators and a short double acoustic signal. At the same time, the LED of the control unit of the system starts flashing.
If one of the side doors, the tailgate, or the engine compartment hood remains unlocked, the indicators will flash 4 times and an 8-fold acoustic signal will sound.
The final activation of the anti-theft system occurs only 25 seconds after the manipulation with the remote control.
Important! If you hold the remote control button down for about 2 more seconds, the ultrasonic sensors are switched off, which is confirmed by the flashing of the direction indicators and a short acoustic signal. All other system functions remain activated. After the ultrasonic sensors are switched off, do not hold the remote control button down any longer, as this will activate the "Panic" mode (see below).
The system is switched off briefly (about 1 second) by pressing the button on the remote control. The direction indicators should flash once and a single acoustic signal will sound. At the same time, the LED of the control unit will stop flashing.
Attention! After disabling the anti-theft alarm, the single lock can be activated using the key. If the control unit LED continues to flash after disabling the device (memory of anxiety), this means that the system was triggered while the car was parked. The device memory is cleared when the ignition is turned on.
Disabling the alarm
When the anti-theft alarm is triggered, the system can be disabled by briefly pressing (about 1 second) pressing the button on the remote control. Although the alarm is turned off, the system remains in the activated state and to turn it off, you must press the button again.
"Panic" mode
If necessary, when the anti-theft alarm system is activated, the "Panic" mode can be activated.
Press and hold the button on the remote control for about 5 seconds (it doesn't matter whether you are inside the car or outside). When the mode is activated, an acoustic signal is turned on for 15 seconds while all doors are simultaneously locked with a single lock.
It is not possible to turn off the alarm in the "Panic" mode. The alarm can be triggered again by movement in the car or by pressing the remote control button for another 5 seconds.
To exit the "Panic" mode, you must disable the anti-theft system.

From the outside, both front doors of the car can be unlocked and locked using the key. When unlocking the door, the lock release button moves to the upper position, when locking, it moves down. The ability to lock the door from the outside using the lock release button is not provided, which helps to avoid forgetting the key in the ignition.
Locking from the outside of the rear doors can be done by slamming them after pressing the lock release button.
From inside the cabin, any door can be locked by pressing the corresponding lock release button.
Rear door opening locking device
The rear door locks of the car are equipped with a special device that ensures the passive safety of children in the car. The device is activated by moving the control lever to the lower position. In this case, the door can only be unlocked from outside the car.
The lock release button must be raised.
Unlocking and locking the tailgate
The slot of the lock cylinder of the unlocked tailgate is in the horizontal position (A). In order to lock the tailgate, it is necessary to move the slot of the lock cylinder to the vertical position (B).
After unlocking the lock, press the release button and lift the door. The door is held open by two gas-filled stops.
The tailgate is closed by slamming it.
It is possible to unlock the tailgate from inside the vehicle using the control lever located to the left of the driver's seat.
Caution! After locking the tailgate, always check that the latch is securely locked by pulling the door up. A loosely slammed door may open spontaneously while driving, even if the lock is locked. Never start driving with the tailgate loosely closed.
Drop-down tailgate for Pickup models
To open the tailgate, press the button at the top of it. Hold the tailgate until it is completely lowered. After closing the tailgate, check the reliability of its lock. Never start driving with the tailgate not tightly closed.
Attention! Before opening the tailgate of a Pickup truck equipped with a towing hitch type 317013, loosen the lock nut and remove the towing hitch ball head from its holder. If the vehicle is equipped with a towing hitch type TMV Co-01, the towing hitch ball head should be turned downwards by approximately 110 mm.
Ignition switch
The ignition switch has four main positions: STOP, 0, I and II.
"STOP" position
In this position the ignition is off, the engine is stopped and the steering column lock is activated. The column can be locked by turning the steering wheel with the ignition key removed until the locking device clicks.
Attention! The key can be removed from the ignition switch only after the car has come to a complete stop. To avoid loss of control due to the steering wheel lock being activated.
If the parking lights remain on after the key is removed from the ignition switch, a warning buzzer will sound when any of the front doors of the vehicle is opened.
Position "0"
The ignition system is switched off, the engine is stopped, the steering column lock is not activated.
If the key is difficult to turn in the lock in this position, release the lock by briefly turning the steering wheel in both directions.
Position "I"
The ignition/pre-glow system is switched on. The control lamps on the instrument panel light up (see below).
Position "II"
Starting the engine. When the key is turned to this position, the headlights and other energy-intensive consumers of electricity are switched off.
At the same time, the starter is turned on. The brake fluid level indicator light on the instrument panel lights up (in order to check the correct functioning of it). If starting fails, a second attempt can only be made after returning the key to position "0". This eliminates the possibility of the starter being damaged when attempting to turn an already running engine.
