Removal

1. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation tube from the cylinder head cover. If the sealing bushing is damaged, select a replacement of the appropriate size.

2. Pry off the plugs, loosen the three fastening nuts, remove the washers and seals. Try to remember the installation position of the removed components. Damaged washers must be replaced.

3. If necessary, tap the perimeter with a soft-faced hammer and remove the cover from the head.

4. Remove the gasket, carefully examine its condition, and if signs of material aging or mechanical damage are detected, select a replacement.

5. Carefully clean the mating surfaces of the cover and cylinder head, completely removing traces of oil and old gasket material.

Installation

Installation is carried out in reverse order. Please note the following points:
  • a) Ensure that the gasket is correctly positioned on the head - all provided holes must be aligned with those in the mating surface;
  • b) Make sure that the sealing cones are in their proper places on the three cover studs;
  • c) Try not to displace the gasket while lowering the cover onto the head;
  • d) Install the washers and seals in the same order as before, then screw on the fastening nuts and tighten them to the required torque. Install the plugs;
  • e) Restore the original connection of the vent tube, replacing the sealing grommet if necessary.
