Removing
1. Disconnect from a cover of a head of cylinders a tube of system of ventilation of a crankcase. If the sealing grommet is damaged, select a replacement that is the correct size.
2. Prying off, remove the plugs, give three fixing nuts, remove the washers and seals. Try to remember the installation position of the removed components. Damaged washers must be replaced.
3. If necessary, after tapping around the perimeter with a soft-faced hammer, remove the cover from the head.
4. Remove the gasket, carefully examine its condition, in case of signs of aging of the material or mechanical damage, select a replacement one.
5. Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of the cover and cylinder head, completely removing traces of oil and old gasket material from them.
Installation
Installation is in the reverse order. Pay attention to the following points:
- a) Make sure that the gasket is placed on the head correctly - all the holes provided must be aligned with the existing ones in the mating surface;
- b) Make sure that there are sealing cones in their regular places on the three studs of the cover;
- c) Try not to move the gasket while lowering the cover onto the head;
- d) Install the washers and seals in the same order, then screw on the fixing nuts and tighten them with the required force. Install plugs;
- e) Restore the original vent tube connection by replacing the grommet if necessary.
