2. Remove the auxiliary drive belt pulleys and the upper cover of the timing belt, then bring the piston of the first cylinder to the TDC position of the end of the compression stroke, remove the timing belt, its tensioner and the camshaft gear (see Section Bringing the piston of the first cylinder to the top dead center position (TDC) end of compression stroke, Removal and installation of the timing belt and its covers, Removing, checking the condition and installing gears and timing belt tensioner).
3. Having unscrewed the fixing bolts, remove the rear (internal) timing belt cover.
4. Acting in accordance with the instructions given in the relevant Sections of this Chapter, perform the following procedures:
- a) Loosen the cover of the first camshaft bearing and remove the oil seal;
- b) Lubricate the new oil seal with clean engine oil and install it on the camshaft stub;
- c) Lubricate the mating surface, install the cover of the first camshaft bearing and in several stages tighten the nuts of its fastening with the required force.
5. In reverse order of removal, reinstall all components removed for access. Do not forget to adjust the tension of the gas distribution and auxiliary belts.
