Removal and installation the cylinder head cover (Skoda Fabia 5J)

Lift the engine cover at the sides "arrow A" and remove it forward "arrow B". Remove the charge air pipe by slightly pulling out the retaining clips.

For engines with the letter designation BSW

Important: Coolant hoses and fuel lines remain connected.

Disconnect intake hose "3" from the mechanical EGR valve. Disconnect crankcase ventilation hose "4" from the air intake pipe, unscrew screws "2" and "5", and push the pipe back.

Important: The air intake pipe remains installed on the turbocharger.

Remove the intake manifold with the mechanical EGR valve and the regulator flap. Remove the upper timing belt cover by releasing the clamps. Remove the cylinder head cover screws in the sequence -13 - 1.

For engines with the letter designation BLS

Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the cylinder head cover. Disconnect the intake hose leading to the vacuum receiver on the cylinder head. Release the fuel and coolant hoses at the right air intake manifold.

Important: Coolant hoses and fuel lines remain connected.

Remove the upper timing belt cover by releasing the clamps. Remove the cylinder head cover screws in sequence 13-1.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of actions, and the following instructions must be followed.

Caution: Clean the sealing surface on the cylinder head cover and on the cylinder head from sealing agent residues using a chemical seal remover. Degrease the sealing surfaces. Apply "arrows" to both edges on the sealing surfaces of the bearing cap and cylinder head in front.
