Removal
1. Using a socket wrench, remove the three mounting head bolts.
2. Remove the cover from the cylinder head - if necessary, tap it around the perimeter with a soft-faced hammer to release it.
3. Remove the gasket and check its condition. If defects are found, prepare a replacement gasket.
4. Carefully clean the mating surfaces of the cover and cylinder head, removing all traces of oil from them.
Installation
Installation is carried out in reverse order. Please note the following points:
- a) Before installing the gasket, lubricate the contact surfaces of the camshaft bearing caps with the head with a suitable sealant;
- b) Make sure the gasket is installed correctly. Lower the cover onto the head very carefully, trying not to displace the gasket.
- c) All fasteners must be tightened to the required torque.
