Removal
1. Remove the air cleaner housing (see section Removal and installation the air cleaner assembly).
2. At the throttle body, disconnect the cable core from the throttle spindle plate - the core should be pulled back and then the tip disconnected.
3. Remove the cap from the outer end of the cable sheath, then release the rubber bushing from the support bracket, which can later be removed from the sheath.
4. In the vehicle interior, release the cable connector nipple from the retainer at the top end of the accelerator pedal.
5. Release the cable from the intermediate guide clamps and pull it through the engine compartment bulkhead (try not to damage the rubber bushing).
Installation
Installation is carried out in reverse order.
Adjustment
Secure the cable housing to the support bracket on the throttle body by snapping a metal locking ring into one of the housing slots so that when the throttle actuator lever rests against the idle position stop, all slack in the cable is taken up.
