1 - Throttle body support flange; 2 - Mounting bolt; 3 - Inlet manifold; 4 - Intake manifold mounting nut; 5 - Cooling system hose going to the heater; 6 - Injection system coolant temperature sensor; 7 - Cylinder head cover vacuum hose connection nipple; 8 - Brake booster vacuum hose connection nipple; 9 - Cooling system hose going to the thermostat housing

Warning! See the warnings provided in Section General information and precautions.

Removal

1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

2. Drain the engine coolant. Alternatively, disconnect the negative battery cable. One of the coolant hoses from the rear of the intake manifold and drain the line.

3. Disconnect the electrical wiring and fuel hoses from the fuel flow sensor assembly (see section Removal and installation components of the Bosch Mono-Motronic system). Alternatively, remove the entire throttle body assembly.

4. Loosen the clamps and disconnect the coolant hoses from the intake manifold.

5. Disconnect the brake booster hose from the fitting on the intake manifold.

8. Remove the mounting bolt and disconnect the CO sampling tube from the rear of the intake manifold.

9. All cables and hoses should be released from their retainers on the intake manifold assembly body. Try to remember the routes of the harnesses and lines.

10. Loosen the intake manifold mounting nuts in…

10. Loosen the intake manifold mounting nuts in several stages, then carefully separate the manifold from the cylinder head. Try not to damage the gasket if you intend to use it further.

11. Make one last check that nothing remains connected to the pipe, then remove the assembly from the engine compartment. If necessary, the throttle body support flange can be removed from the pipe after loosening the mounting nuts.

12. A damaged gasket must be replaced. If the engine is equipped with a combined intake manifold/exhaust manifold assembly, the manifold must also be removed.

Installation

Installation is carried out in reverse order. Please note the following points:

This material is published on the portal skodabook
  • a) Ensure that the mating surfaces of the pipeline and cylinder head are clean;
  • b) The pipeline fastening nuts must be tightened to the required force;
  • c) Ensure that all cables and hoses are correctly routed and connected;
  • d) If removed, reinstall the throttle body (or connect the appropriate electrical wiring and hoses);
  • e) Finally, top up the cooling system with fluid.
