Mode of action
Cars with airbags are equipped with a device to shut off the fuel pump with a crash signal (shock signal). If the Airbag system modules are activated while the vehicle is moving, the fuel pump is switched off as a result of the fuel pump relay "J17" opening. At the same time, a setting to improve engine starting is activated. When the doors are opened, the fuel pump is activated for approximately 2 seconds to create pressure in the fuel system.
