Note:
Necessary tools, measuring instruments and auxiliary equipment
- Cap remover "VW637/2".
- Mandrel "3241"
- Torque wrench "VAG 1332".
- Torque wrench "VAG 1410"
- Socket wrench "T10162".
Removal
1. Unscrew the wheel bolts.
2. Raise the car.
3. Loosen the wheel bolts and remove the wheel.
4. Lightly tap the cam of the puller "VW 637/2" (1) to remove the protective cap, as shown in the figure below.
5. Remove the protective cap.
6. Remove the bracket with the brake caliper and secure it to the body with wire.
Note: Hang the brake caliper by securing it to the body.
7. Loosen the brake disc mounting screw and remove the brake disc.
1. Puller-VW637/2-
8. Unscrew the screw (1) using the socket wrench "T10162", as shown in the figure below.
9. Remove the hub/bearing assembly (2) from the journal as shown in the figure below.
Installation
1. Carefully install the hub/bearing assembly (2) by sliding it onto the journal as shown in the figure below.
Caution: Avoid any distortions when installing the unit!
2. Install the new bolt (1) and tighten it to the specified torque.
Note:
- First, tighten the bolt to the specified torque using a torque wrench.
- To tighten the fastener to the specified angle, use a regular hard wrench.

3. Install the new protective cap (1) as shown in the figure below.
Note:
- Protective caps are always replaced after removal.
- A damaged cap cannot prevent moisture from entering. Therefore, it is always necessary to use the proper tool during installation.
4. Further installation is carried out in reverse order.
5. Install the wheel and tighten the wheel bolts.
