Removal the wheel hub with the wheel bearing
Loosen the twelve-sided nut for fastening the drive shaft. Remove the wheel.
Important: Remove the ABS speed sensor (cars with ABS)
Disconnect the plug connector of the brake lining wear indicator (if the car is equipped with it). Unscrew nut "1". Remove stabilizer connecting rod "3" from stabilizer "2".
Cars with FS-II disc brake caliper
The figure shows the FS-II disc brake caliper with the air duct removed.

After unscrewing the cylindrical screws with an internal hexagon in the head "1" and "2" from the disc wheel brake caliper, remove them. After removing the disc brake caliper, secure it with a wire so that its weight does not exert any load on the brake hose and, thus, does not damage it.

Cars with FS-III disc brake caliper
Remove the covers from the guide pins of the disc brake caliper. After unscrewing both guide pins "arrows" from the caliper of the disc wheel brake mechanism, remove them. After removing the disc brake caliper, secure it with a wire so that its weight does not exert any load on the brake hose and, thus, does not damage it.

Cars with C54-II disc brake caliper
After unscrewing screws "1" from the disc brake caliper, remove them. After removing the disc brake caliper support together with the caliper, hook it with a wire in such a way that its weight does not exert any load on the brake hose and does not damage it.

Continued for all vehicles
Loosen the tie rod end nut "1" until the ball joint puller rests against the nut.

Important: To prevent damage to the threads, it is necessary to leave the nut partially threaded onto the tie rod end. When pressing out the tie rod end, be careful - risk of injury: releasing the tie rod end ball pin may cause the ball joint puller to fall out.
Using a puller, remove the transverse tie rod with the transverse tie rod end "2" from the steering linkage arm. Unscrew the nut from the tie rod end. Remove the tie rod end from the steering linkage arm. Tie the steering linkage rod at the top. After removing the outer joint of the driveshaft from the wheel bearing cap, tie the driveshaft at the top to the body. Unscrew the ball joint head again with the lower arm of the front suspension. To do this, use the removed screws and the removed lock washer. After unscrewing the brake disc fixing screw, remove the brake disc. Remove the brake disc protective sheet.
Important: The illustration shows the removal of the wheel hub with the wheel bearing on the wheel bearing cap on a chassis with FS-III brakes. Removing the wheel hub with the wheel bearing on a chassis with FS-II and C54-P brakes, respectively, is similar to the removal of a chassis with FS-III brakes, although the wheel bearing cap looks slightly different. The mounting tool must be installed perpendicular to the wheel hub axis with the wheel hub bearing.
During removal and pressing, do not jam the wheel hub with the wheel hub bearing. Below are 2 different ways to press out a wheel hub bearing from a wheel hub. Insert the side door hinge pin knockout tool "3" into the space between the wheel bearing cover and the wheel hub as a contact surface for the installation tool "2". Press the wheel hub with the wheel bearing out of the wheel bearing housing cover.

Important: Instead of the tool for knocking out the hinge pins of the side doors, it is also possible to use two washers (approx. 25 mm, height approx. 40 mm and approx. long. 220 mm) located in the space between the wheel hub bearing cap and the wheel hub and serving as a contact surface for the mounting tool. If you have a release tool from the additional kit, you can use it as a contact surface. In this case, care should be taken to ensure that the correct assembly position is maintained. The flat surfaces of the pads should be directed towards the wheel hub.
After installing the release tool "3" into the space between the wheel hub bearing cover and the wheel hub, pre-tension it. Press the wheel hub with the wheel bearing out of the wheel bearing housing cover.

Installing a wheel hub with a wheel hub bearing
Important: The illustration shows the wheel bearing cap for a chassis with FS-III brakes. Cleaning and lubricating the wheel bearing cap bore on chassis with FS-II C54-P brakes is performed in the same manner as on chassis with FS-III brakes. Clean the wheel bearing cap bore. Lubricate the hole with Molykot G 050 723 A2 grease over the entire area.

Unscrew pads "3" from the wheel hub with wheel bearing "1" using wheel mounting bolts "2". Wheel mounting bolts "2" must not protrude from the rear of pads -3. The figure shows the installation of a wheel hub with a wheel bearing on a wheel bearing cap on a chassis with FS-III brakes. The selection and determination of the special tool for installing a wheel hub with a wheel bearing into a wheel bearing cap on a chassis with FS-II and C54-N brakes, respectively, are the same as for a chassis with FS-III brakes. Do not allow the wheel bearing caps to jam during pressing.

Press the wheel hub with the wheel bearing into the wheel bearing cap. Press the wheel hub. wheel hub bearing until the retaining ring is in the locked position.

Unscrew the pads "1" from the wheel hub with the wheel hub bearing "2", Install the protective sheet of the brake disc. After installing the brake disc, secure it with a screw. After installing the tie rod together with the tie rod end into the steering linkage arm, tighten it.

Unscrew the "arrow" screws and pull out the ball joint "1" with the wheel hub bearing housing cover from the lower arm "2". Insert the outer joint of the propeller shaft into the wheel hub bearing cap.

Screw in new screws "arrow" into a new locking washer and tighten. After installing the disc brake caliper in reverse order of removal depending on the type of disc brake caliper, tighten. Connect the connector of the brake pad wear indicator (if the car is equipped with it). Install the ABS speed sensor (cars with ABS).

After installing the stabilizer connecting rod "3" into the stabilizer "2", tighten the nut "1". Tighten the new twelve-sided nut to secure the drive shaft. Tighten the wheel. Take measurements of the vehicle. Conduct a test run.

Caution: If after a test run and with the front wheels set to drive straight, the steering wheel is not in the correct position, the vehicle must be measured.
