8. The brake system consists of many metal hydraulic pipes that run from the master cylinder in the engine compartment to the front brakes, to the pressure control valve, and under the bottom to the rear brakes. Hoses are attached to the ends of the tubes at the front and rear, which ensure the transfer of brake fluid to the working cylinders on the wheels when the suspension and steering are moving.
9. When inspecting the system, first look for signs of leakage at the tube or hose couplings, then inspect the hoses for cracks, fraying, or rubber contamination. By sharply bending the hose between your fingers, make sure that there are no hidden cracks, cuts or splits on it (Photo). Check that all tubes and hoses are securely clamped.
10. Carefully inspect the metal tubes along their entire length for dents, kinks, damage or corrosion. Corrosion can be removed with sandpaper; if the depth of corrosion is significant, the pipe must be replaced.
