2. To save time and avoid problems, the engine can be assembled in the following order:
- a) Crankshaft (Chapter 18).
- b) Piston/Connecting Rod Assemblies (Chapter 19).
- c) cylinder head (Section 2A, Chapter 6).
- d) Camshaft and tappets (Chapter 9).
- e) Drive chain and sprockets (Section 2A, Chapter 7).
- f) Flywheel (Section 2A, Chapter 12).
- g) Pallet (Section 2A, Chapter 10).
- h) External engine components.
3. At this stage, all engine components must be absolutely clean and dry, all faults must be corrected, and the parts to be assembled placed on a clean work surface.
