2. Place the removed generator on a clean work surface with the pulley facing down.

3. On diesel and 1.6L models, loosen the mounting screws, release the clamps and remove the rear plastic cover from the generator.

4. Remove the brush holder/voltage regulator module mounting screws, disconnect the electrical connector and remove the module from the generator.



5. Check the free length of the brush protrusion from the holders - the measurement is taken from the stamp on the brush to the lower edge of the contact surface wear. Compare the measurement results with the requirements Specifications. Replace the module if necessary.

6. Check the condition of the working surfaces of the sliding rings at the end of the generator shaft. If signs of excessive wear, cavities or burn marks are detected, seek help from car service specialists.
7. Proceeding in reverse order, reassemble the generator and install it in place (see section Removal and installation the generator).
