In addition to the crankshaft speed, the sensor also indicates reference points for the engine control unit. Therefore, if the sensor signal is lost, the engine will stop.
1. Disconnect the wire from the "-" terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the upper engine cover (see subsection 2.1).
3. Disconnect connector I with wires from speed sensor II.
4. Connect an ohmmeter to pins 1 and 2 of the sensor and measure the resistance. It should be 450–550 ohms. If the measured resistance does not match the specified value, replace the sensor.
