Removing
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. Chock the rear wheels of the vehicle, then jack up the front of the vehicle and place it on jack stands.
3. Drain the engine oil, then replace the drain plug and tighten it to the required torque. When the oil change time is approaching according to the Routine Maintenance Schedule (see chapter Current service), replace the oil filter.
4. Under the vehicle, unscrew the bolt that secures the cooling path pipe to the bracket on the right end of the oil pan.
5. In the reverse order shown in the illustration, in several stages, give the pallet mounting bolts. Try to remember the installation position of the cooling path tube bracket, which is fixed using the right pan fixing bolt.
6. Tap the pallet with the palm of your hand to separate it from the engine block, then lower it and remove it from under the car.
7. Take this opportunity to clean the oil pickup strainer. If the screen is very dirty, replace the filter (if necessary, see Section Removal, condition check and installation of components of the oil pump).
Installation
1. Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of the sump and cylinder block, completely removing traces of oil from them, then wipe the sump and internal surfaces of the engine dry with a clean rag.
2. Lay a new gasket on the mating surface of the pallet,
... press the pan against the engine and hand-tighten the fixing bolts.
3. Acting in the order specified in an illustration, tighten bolts of the pallet with the demanded effort.
4. Screw in and firmly tighten the bolt of the cooling path tube. Lower the vehicle to the ground and connect the negative cable to the battery.
5. Fill the engine with engine oil (see chapter Current service).
