Removal air from the hydraulic brake system without using a device for filling the hydraulic brake drive and for removing air from it

Important: Bleeding the hydraulic brake system on vehicles equipped with ABS is performed in the same manner as on vehicles without ABS. On vehicles without ABS but equipped with a load-sensing brake force regulator, it is necessary to move the brake force regulator lever while bleeding the rear brake mechanism. While bleeding the air, it is necessary to constantly monitor the brake fluid level in the hydraulic brake reservoir and, if necessary, top it up to the "MAX" mark.

By pressing the brake control pedal again, you should increase the pressure in the brake system. Insert the flask hose to remove air. While pressing the brake control pedal, loosen the threaded plug of the ventilation hole and thereby remove the air. With the brake control pedal depressed, tighten the ventilation hole screw. This procedure should be repeated as necessary until all air has been removed from the brake system.

Sequence for removing air

  • 1. Wheel brake cylinder or disc brake caliper of the rear right wheel
  • 2. Wheel brake cylinder or disc brake caliper of the rear left wheel
  • 3. Front right disc brake caliper
  • 4. Front left wheel disc brake caliper

After removing the air, close the corresponding valve and put on the rubber cap.

Important: After removing the air, a test run must be carried out. During the run, at least one activation of the ABS device must occur!

Carry out a test run with the ABS device activated.

Cars with ABS/ASR/ESP BOSCH 8.0

Important: Bleeding the hydraulic brake system of vehicles with ABS/ASR/ESP "BOSCH 8.0" is carried out using a diagnostic tool by setting it to the initial position.

Perform reset using a diagnostic tool. Carry out a test run with at least one activation of the ABS device.
