Remove the engine cover. Remove the air filter. Remove the battery and battery holder. Cover the area around the engine and gearbox with a sufficient number of non-shedding rags. Disconnect the connector "1" from the brake fluid level warning switch "F34". Remove the suction hose "6" from the holder on the brake fluid reservoir. Pump out the brake fluid after opening the threaded plugs of the ventilation holes on the disc wheel mechanism calipers by pressing the brake pedal again. Disconnect the master cylinder wire from mount "2" using a tube clamp. Open the spring clamp on the master cylinder wire using pliers. After disconnecting the master cylinder wire mount "2" from the hydraulic brake reservoir "3", secure it at the top. Remove the brake lines from the holder "7". Unscrew the brake lines from the master cylinder "5" and plug them.

Remove the engine cover. Remove the air filter.…


Seal the connecting pipes of the brake drive pipes on the brake master cylinder with plugs from the spare parts kit.



Cars without air conditioning



Remove the left footwell air duct nozzle.

For cars with air conditioning



Remove the left footwell air duct nozzle.

Vehicles with the "Comfort" system electrical equipment central control unit "J393"

Remove the central control unit for the electrical equipment of the "Comfort" system "J393".

Continued for all vehicles



Remove the brake light switch. Separate the brake control pedal from the brake booster. Unscrew nuts of brake booster "arrows". Pull brake booster with master cylinder forward.

Installation



Installation is carried out in the reverse order of actions. Install the brake control pedal onto the brake booster.

Adjust and install the brake light switch. Add new brake fluid. Install the battery and battery holder. Connect the battery.

Cars without ABS and with ABS, ABS/ASR BOSCH 8.0



Bleed the brake system.

Cars with ABS/ASR/ESP BOSCH 8.0



Perform reset using a diagnostic tool.

Continued for all vehicles



Bleed the clutch. Install the air filter. Install the engine cover. Perform a vehicle system test using a diagnostic tool.

Tightening torques



Brake booster - pedal mechanism20 Nm
Brake line - master cylinder14 Nm
