Checking the correct adjustment of the gear shift drive (Skoda Fabia 6Y)

Place the gear shift lever in neutral position. Press the clutch pedal and engage all gears several times. If any of the gears stick when engaged, check the axial clearance of the gear shift shaft.

Checking the axial clearance

1. Shift into first gear.

2. Move the gear shift lever all the way to the left and release.

3. The assistant should observe the movement of the gear shift shaft. The shaft stroke should be approximately 1 mm. If not, adjust the gearshift drive.
