Locking the gear shift lever

1. Place the gear shift lever in neutral position.
2. On models with 1.0L 37 kW and 1.4L 50 kW engines, remove the air cleaner duct (see subsection 4.1).
3. Slide the clamps 2 until they stop (see figure Releasing the cable end clamps) cables, overcoming the resistance of springs 1, and fix them in this position by turning the clamps to the left (in the direction of the arrow).

4. Press on the gearshift shaft 1 (along the arrow) and fix it in this position by turning the locking lever 2 in the direction indicated by the arrow.
5. Carefully pry with a screwdriver in the places indicated by the arrows in the figure Removal the gear shift boot from the frame, disengage the cover frame. Turn the cover inside out.
6. Move lever 1 (see figure: Locking the gear shift lever) to the left to the position between the first and second gears and insert the suitable rod 4 into the holes of the guide 2 of the lever and the housing 3 of the mechanism.
7. Release the clamps 2 (see figure Releasing the cable end clamps), turning them in the opposite direction. In this case, tips 3 will be fixed in this position.

8. Release the gear shift shaft by turning the locking lever 2 to its original position.
9. Remove rod 4 (see figure: Locking the gear shift lever) and install the gear shift boot back into place.
