10.11. Intake manifold
1. Throttle body mounting frame; 2. Bolt; 3. Collector; 4. Nut; 5. Hose to the heater; 6. Temperature sensor (for engine management system); 7. Hose fitting to valve cover; 8. Hose fitting to the brake booster; 9. Hose to thermostat.
1. If damage appears in the fuel injection system, first check that the wiring connectors are securely connected and not corroded. Then make sure the air filter element is clean and the spark plugs are in good condition with properly adjusted electrode gaps. the compression in the engine cylinders is normal, the ignition timing is correctly adjusted, the engine breather hoses are not clogged or damaged.
2. If all components are in order and the adjustments are correct, contact your dealer. The diagnostic connector is included in the engine management system wiring harness, and special test equipment can be connected to it, with which you can «interrogate» engine control system. In this way, damage can be determined accurately, quickly and easily. When checking the health of all components of the system separately, you can determine the damage by elimination (alternately replacing nodes with known good ones), but this method is time consuming and there is a high risk of damaging the internal components of the ECU.
3. Experienced motorists, with an accurate tachometer and exhaust gas analyzer, can check the CO content in the exhaust gas and the engine idle speed; if they differ from the values given in Specifications, you need to contact your dealer. Nor air-fuel mixture (CO content in the exhaust gas) nor can the idle speed be manually adjusted; if the test results show deviations, then this indicates damage in the fuel injection system.
