Diesel engines
The oil seal is made of PTFE. Do not lubricate the seal lip or the camshaft before installation.
1. Remove the camshaft drive belt (see subsection 2.4.1).
2. While holding the camshaft from turning, unscrew the mounting bolts 1 and remove the camshaft pulley 2 (3 – toothed sector).
3. Loosen bolt 1 securing the camshaft pulley hub by two turns, while holding the shaft from turning. At service stations, the T 10051 device is used for this purpose (2 – hub; 3 – device T 10051).
4. Using puller 1, move hub 2 off the camshaft cone. Then remove the puller, unscrew the hub mounting bolt and remove the camshaft pulley hub.
5. Remove the oil seal. At service stations, the T 30003 sealing ring puller is used for this purpose.

6. Wipe the camshaft thoroughly to remove any oil or dirt. To avoid damaging the working edge of the oil seal, tape over the groove on the camshaft cone.
7. Carefully place the new oil seal onto the camshaft and press it in using a suitable mandrel until it stops.
8. Install the pulley hub and tighten its mounting bolt to a torque of 100 Nm.
4. Using puller 1, move hub 2 off the camshaft cone. Then remove the puller, unscrew the hub mounting bolt and remove the camshaft pulley hub.
9. Place the camshaft pulley onto the hub, with toothed sector 3 (see above) facing upwards. Screw in the pulley mounting bolts 1 by hand.
10. Install the camshaft drive belt and adjust it.

1. Remove the camshaft drive belts (see subsection 2.4.2).
2. While holding the camshafts from turning, unscrew the mounting bolts 1 and remove the camshaft pulleys 2 and 29.
3. Using a sealing ring puller or by prying with a screwdriver, remove the seals 3.
4. Wipe the camshafts and seal seats to remove any dirt and oil.
5. Lubricate the working lip of the new oil seals with a thin layer of engine oil.
6. Carefully place the oil seals on the camshafts and press them in until they stop using a suitable mandrel.
7. Install pulleys 2 and 29 of the camshafts and tighten bolts 1 of their fastening first to a torque of 20 Nm, and then tighten another 90°.
8. Install the camshaft drive belts and adjust their tension.
9. To replace sealing rings 28, remove the ignition module.
10. Unscrew bolts 8 and remove rear covers 7 and 11 of the camshafts.
11. Remove sealing rings 28.
12. Apply a thin layer of engine oil to the new rings and install them in place.
13. Install covers 7 and 11 in place and tighten their mounting bolts to a torque of 10 Nm.
