Special wheel fastening kit ("secret")
1 – special bolt; 2 – key
Caution! Loosen and tighten wheel bolts only when the vehicle is parked on the ground.
Caution! Do not lubricate the wheel mounting bolts, as this may cause them to loosen while driving.
In parts stores or at Škoda service stations, a set of special wheel bolts 1 with key 2 ("locking bolts") can be purchased. One such bolt is installed on each wheel (instead of the standard bolt) to make it difficult for the wheel to be removed without authorization. There is a code stamped on the key head that can be used to order a new key if it is lost. The tightening torque for special bolts is 120 Nm. Applying more torque may damage the bolt and key.
1. Place the vehicle on a level surface and place chocks under the wheels. If you are changing the front tires, apply the parking brake.
2. Open the trunk lid and fold back the niche cover.

3. Open the cover 1 of the tool box and unscrew the special fastening bolt 4. Then remove the tool box 2 and spare wheel 3 from the trunk.

4. Insert the special wire puller 2 into the hole in the wheel cap 4, thread the wheel wrench 1 through it and, resting the wrench on the tire 3, pull the cap off the wheel. On models with cast wheels, remove the protective caps from the wheel bolt heads.
5. Use a wheel wrench to loosen the wheel mounting bolts. This may require a lot of effort.
6. Install the jack and raise the vehicle (see subsection 1.49).
7. Completely unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the wheel.
8. Install the spare tire. Screw in the wheel mounting bolts without tightening them completely.
9. Lower the vehicle to the ground and tighten the wheel bolts evenly and diagonally to 120 Nm.
10. Check tire pressure and adjust if necessary.
Attention! Have the replaced wheel repaired as soon as possible.
