Radiator drain plug

Fill with coolant that meets the TL VW 774 D standards (see table. Recommended coolants).
Depending on the ambient temperature, the coolant concentrate must be diluted with distilled water in accordance with the table. Standards for dilution of coolant concentrate.
Caution! Change the coolant when the engine is cold.
It is strictly forbidden to pour coolant on the ground or into the sewer system, as the ethylene glycol it contains is a highly toxic poison. Its release into groundwater will lead to adverse environmental consequences for the environment.
1. Remove the expansion tank cap.
2. Remove the engine splash shield.
3. Place a container under the drain hole pipe 1 to collect the used fluid (see the picture Radiator drain plug). For ease of use, place a hose on the branch pipe.
4. Unscrew the drain plug 2.

5. On models with diesel engines, loosen the clamp and disconnect hose 1 from the front connection of heat exchanger 2. Wait until all the liquid has drained, and connect hose 1 to the front connection of the heat exchanger (3 - oil filter).
6. Tighten the cap 2 (see the picture Radiator drain plug) drain hole.
7. Fill the expansion tank with new coolant up to the "max" mark.
8. Install the cap on the expansion tank.
9. Start the engine and let it run until the radiator fan comes on.
10. Check the coolant level in the expansion tank and top up if necessary.
11. When the engine is warm, the coolant level in the expansion tank should be at the "max" mark or slightly higher. When the engine is cold, the fluid level should not fall below the "min" mark.
Caution! When the engine is warm, the cooling system is under pressure. Therefore, remove the expansion tank cap when the engine is cold; if you need to open the reservoir on a hot engine, cover the cap with a rag and remove it with an outstretched hand.
