Checking the air valve (Skoda Fabia 6Y)

1.Unscrew bolt 17 (see figureDetails of the fuel system of a carburetor engine) fasteners and remove the filler neck 18.

2. Bend back the spring clips and remove the air valve 15 from the fuel tank filler pipe.



3. Blow air through the valve; when lever 1 is in its original position, as shown in the figure, valve 2 should be closed. Press lever 1 in the direction indicated by the arrow, the valve should open. If the valve is open or closed in both positions of lever 1, it is faulty and needs to be replaced.
