Diesel engine
The fuel filter on a car with a diesel engine is installed in the engine compartment.
Valve 4 is fixed on the fuel filter (see fig. Fuel filter for a car with a diesel engine 1.9 l, 74 kW) fuel heating. Arrows are embossed on the upper flange of the filter near the fittings for connecting fuel hoses, showing which fittings the fuel supply and drain hoses are connected to.
In addition, the direction of fuel flow is indicated by arrows on the fuel hoses and on the fuel heating valve. The fuel filter is non-separable and cannot be repaired.
1. Disconnect fuel hoses 2 and 6 from filter fittings 7.
2. Remove retainer 3 for fuel heating valve.
3. Remove the fuel heating valve 4 without disconnecting the hoses from it, and take the valve aside.
4. Release the three plastic latches 1 and pull the fuel filter 2 up out of the bracket 3. Please note that the filter can only be removed and inserted in one position, as shown in the figure.
5. Install the new filter in reverse order, first filling it with clean fuel. The moment of an inhaling of a bolt of fastening of an arm of the fuel filter of the diesel engine 25 Н·м.
Gas engine
On a car with a gasoline engine, the fuel filter is attached to the fuel tank, on the bottom of the car.
To fuel filter 7 (see fig. Details of the power supply system of the carburetor engine) built-in fuel pressure regulator.
The arrow on the filter housing indicates the direction of fuel flow. Two fittings on the filter flange on the side of the fuel pump are used to connect the fuel pipes. A fuel supply pipe is connected to the fitting in the center of the flange (black color), to the fitting on the edge of the flange - fuel return pipe (of blue color).
1. Disconnect the fuel lines 6, 11 and 12 from the filter 7 by pressing the tube clamp buttons. Since the fuel in the pipes is under pressure, cover the pipe connections with rags and remove the pipes from the filter fittings gradually.
2. Unscrew the fastening screw 8 and remove the fuel filter 7.
3. Install the new fuel filter in reverse order. In this case, the arrow on the filter housing must be directed towards the engine.
