The battery does not hold a charge for more than a few days


  • Internal battery defect (Section 1 or 12)
  • Low electrolyte level in the battery (Section 1).
  • The battery terminal connections are loose or oxidized (Section 1).
  • The alternator drive belt is worn out or its tension is incorrectly adjusted (Section 1).
  • The generator does not provide the required power for charging (Section 12).
  • The generator or voltage regulator is damaged (Section 12).
  • A short circuit may be the cause of continuous battery discharge (Section 12).

The generator operation indicator light remains on while the engine is running


  • Broken (broken) alternator drive belt worn or improperly adjusted (Section 1).
  • The generator brushes are worn, jammed or dirty (Section 12).
  • The generator brush spring is weakened or broken (Section 12).
  • The generator or voltage regulator is faulty (Section 12).
  • The wiring in the charging circuit is broken, disconnected or loose (Section 12).

The generator operation indicator light does not light up


  • The lamp burned out (Section 12).
  • The wiring in the indicator lamp circuit is broken, disconnected or loose (Section 12).
  • The generator is damaged (Section 12).




The lamp is not working


  • The lamp burned out (Section 12).
  • The contacts of the lamp or socket are oxidized (Section 12).
  • The fuse has blown (Section 12).
  • Defective relay (Section 12).
  • Broken, disconnected or loose electrical wiring (Section 12).
  • Defective switch (Section 12).

Inaccurate or erratic instrument readings



The readings increase with engine speed


  • Defective voltage regulator (Section 12).

Fuel level or temperature gauges do not show any readings


  • Defective pointer sensor (Section 3 or 4).
  • Electrical wiring break (Section 12).
  • The device itself is faulty (Section 12).

Fuel level or temperature gauges show maximum value


  • Defective pointer sensor (Section 3 or 4).
  • Short circuit in electrical wiring (Section 12).

The sound signal does not work well or does not work at all

The sound signal works all the time


  • The horn button is stuck in the pressed position or its contact is shorted to ground (Section 12).
  • The wiring from the sound signal to the key is shorted to ground (Section 12).

The sound signal does not work


  • The fuse has blown (Section 12).
  • Wiring or connections are loose, broken or disconnected (Section 12).
  • The sound signal is damaged (Section 12).

The signal sounds intermittently


  • The electrical wiring connections are loose (Section 12).
  • The horn mount is loose (Section 12).
  • The sound signal is damaged (Section 12).

Windshield/rear wipers do not work or do not function satisfactorily



Windscreen wipers do not move or move very slowly


  • The brushes are stuck to the glass, or the rods are jammed (Section 1 or 12).
  • The fuse has blown (Section 12).
  • Broken, disconnected or loose electrical wiring (Section 12).
  • Defective relay (Section 12).
  • Defective wiper motor (Section 12).

The wiper blades cover too much or too little of the glass area


  • The windshield wiper arms are not positioned correctly on the axles (Section 12).

  • The hose is disconnected, kinked or clogged (Section 12).
  • Not enough fluid in the washer reservoir (Section 1).

The washer pump is not working


  • Broken or disconnected wiring or connections (Section 12).
  • The fuse has blown (Section 12).
  • Defective washer switch (Section 12).
  • Defective washer pump (Section 12).

The washer pump operates for some time before fluid starts to flow from the nozzles


  • The non-return valve in the supply hose is damaged (Section 12).
