Removal and installation exhaust gas recirculation system components for engines with the BSW letter designation (Skoda Fabia 5J)

Important:

• The exhaust gas recirculation system is controlled by the J623 engine control unit via the N18 EGR solenoid valve, which is part of the valve block, and the mechanical EGR valve. The mechanical EGR valve, thanks to its cone-shaped tappet, can achieve different opening diameters by varying the valve stroke. Thanks to pulse control, it is possible to achieve any position of the valve tappet. EGR at idle speed switches off after approximately two minutes. In case of relatively long-term measurements, the engine should be started again or the engine speed should be increased briefly above 1500 rpm.
• Then repeat the measurement. All hose connections must be secured with appropriate hose clamps. Replace the self-locking nuts.
