Removal the door lock

Disconnecting the rods from the lock

The lock, window lifter and speaker are installed on the inner door panel.

1. Disconnect the wire from the "-" terminal of the battery.

2. Slide the protective cover 4 (see figure Removal the front door) and disconnect the connectors with wires from the front pillar.

3. Remove the door trim.

4. Remove the outside door handle.

5. Using a screwdriver, pry out the two plugs from the inner panel 4 (see the picture: Fastening the inner door panel) doors.

6. Lower the door glass to gain access to the screws 1 securing the glass.

7. Loosen screws 1 and spread the clamps.

8. Use your hands to lift the glass and secure it in this position by inserting a wedge between the glass and the door panel.

9. Unscrew the two lock mounting bolts at the end of the door, shown in the figure Door lock mounting bolts.

10. Unscrew screws 2 and 3 (see the picture: Fastening the inner door panel) fastening the inner door panel.

11. Remove the inner panel 4 by moving it towards the front of the door.

12. Remove the wiring harness from the door.

13. Using a screwdriver, pry off the latch 1 (see the picture Removing the door lock), remove lock 3 from holder 2.

14. Disconnect rod 1 (see the figure Disconnecting the rods from the lock) door lock buttons by turning the lock as shown by the arrow.

15. Remove the rod 3 of the inner handle from the holder 4 on the lock.

16. Turn rod 3 by 90° and disconnect it from lever 2.

17. Install the door lock in reverse order. When attaching the inner panel, tighten the screws 3 first (see the picture: Fastening the inner door panel).
