Remove the rear wheel. Release the brakes (set the brakes to their original position). Move the wedge (self-adjusting state of the parking brake lever) through the hole for the wheel mounting bolt in the brake drum using a screwdriver in an upward direction (releasing the brake). After unscrewing the brake drum fixing bolt, remove the brake drum.

Release the cap from the seat (attachment points) with light blows on the lid puller.

Remove the cap. Unscrew the twelve-sided nut. Remove the wheel hub with wheel hub bearing from the axle stub (journal).

Caution: Be careful not to damage the pulse sensor sensor disc on vehicles with ABS (pulse ring).
Installation
Carefully place the wheel hub with the bearing onto the axle journal (neck) until it stops.
Important: Do not allow the wheel hub with the bearing to jam (skewed) on the axle journal. Use a new twelve-sided nut. The cap should be replaced after each removal. Damaged caps allow moisture to penetrate inside.
After screwing on a new twelve-sided nut, tighten it. After installing the brake drum, secure it with a screw. Press the cap on. After installing the wheel, tighten it.

Tightening torques
| Twelve-sided nut - axle journal (neck) | 70 Nm +30° |
| Brake drum retaining bolt - wheel hub | 4 Nm |
| Wheel mounting bolts | 120 Nm |
