General description
The navigation system unit combines the functions of a car radio with a CD changer and a navigation system. The double DIN housing contains: a car radio "RDS"; TMS box for receiving messages about the transport situation; Black and white (monochromatic) display; navigation system with satellite receiver "GPS"; A CD drive for the navigation system that allows playback of audio discs. The system is supplied with, or can be supplemented with, an external CD changer.
General instructions
Caution: Before starting work on electrical equipment, with the ignition off, it is necessary to disconnect the wire connecting the battery terminal to the ground (body) of the vehicle.
Navigation systems are protected from theft by a security code. For factory-fitted navigation systems, the safety code number is only entered when the system is first used in the respective vehicle. When subsequently disconnecting and connecting the battery, or when removing and then installing the navigation system in the same vehicle, there is no longer any need to enter the security code. If the navigation system is installed in another vehicle, the security code must be entered again.
