Replacing the oil heat exchanger

1. Drain the oil from the engine crankcase.

2. Drain the fluid from the engine cooling system.

3. Disconnect the cooling system hoses from the heat exchanger fittings. Label the hoses to avoid confusion when connecting them.

4. Unscrew the bottom cover 1 (see figure Diesel engine oil filter parts) and remove heat exchanger 3.

5. Install the new gasket 4 tightly onto the heat exchanger.

6. Replace sealing ring 2.

7. Place the heat exchanger on the filter and screw the bottom cover on by hand. Then turn the heat exchanger all the way towards the cover tightening direction and tighten the cover completely. The tightening torque of the lower oil filter cover is 25 Nm.

8. Connect the hoses to the heat exchanger, pour liquid into the cooling system and oil into the engine crankcase.
