Tie rod ends can be replaced with the tie rods and power steering housing installed. Raise the car. Remove the front wheel. Nut "1" should be unscrewed to such an extent that the puller rests on the nut.
Using a puller, press the transverse tie rod with the transverse tie rod end "2" away from the steering trapezoid lever. Unscrew the nut from the tie rod end. Remove the tie rod end from the steering linkage arm. Loosen the nut (lock nut) "2".
Unscrew tie rod end "3" from tie rod end "1." For the sake of clarity, the illustrations show only the essential parts and omit any surrounding details.
Installation
Important: When installing, follow the marking on the tie rod end rod "arrow".
- I - tip of the left link of the transverse steering rod - marking "D"
- II - tip of the right link of the transverse steering rod - marking "C"
Degrease the tapered journal of the tie rod end. Screw the tie rod end onto the tie rod until it stops. Tighten the nut (lock nut). Adjust the tie rod so that the tie rod end journal is in the assembly position. After installing the tie rod end together with the tie rod into the steering linkage arm, tighten the new nut. If the trunnion rotates when tightened, it is necessary to hold it by the internal hexagon. Install the front wheel. Lower the car. Take measurements of the vehicle.
