Assembly diagram of the TRW pump unit
The steering pump unit is a complete assembly consisting of the power steering pump "V119" (electric motor and gear pump), the J500 power steering control unit and hydraulic fluid receiver include a safety mechanism that prevents the pump from automatically turning on after it has stopped in the event of a malfunction, failure, or a traffic accident.
Important: Repair of the power steering pump unit is not provided. In case of complaints, the cause must be identified by means of pressure and tightness testing. If there is an insufficient amount of hydraulic fluid in the receiver, it is always necessary to check the tightness of the steering system. In case of leaks in the pipeline connection area, it is necessary to first check the pipelines and their connections for leaks and, if necessary, tighten them and wipe them dry. Drained hydraulic fluid cannot be reused. O-rings should always be replaced.
