Before you begin removing the power steering housing, you must adjust the rack to the center position.
Important: The steering gear housing supplied as a spare part already has the toothed rack in the middle position. Dimension "a" must be the same on the right and left sides of the steering gear housing. If it is not the same on both sides, then distance "a" needs to be corrected.
Check size "a" and adjust if necessary.
Adjust the size by turning the input shaft "1" of the power steering gear housing.

Important: Two mechanics must be present for adjustment.
Prerequisite for the implementation of control
Adjust the wheels to move straight. Raise the car. Move the steering wheel alternately around its center axis, approximately 30° in each direction. If the steering wheel play is too large, it will be manifested by a knocking sound that can be heard in the passenger compartment. While moving the steering wheel, with the assistance of a second mechanic, carefully tighten the set screw "1" until the knocking noise heard in the passenger compartment is eliminated.

Caution: When parking the vehicle or after turning a corner, the steering mechanism should automatically return smoothly to the straight-ahead position; otherwise, adjustments must be made.

Locking is achieved by three "arrow" notches, evenly distributed on the end of the power steering gear housing.
