Mark the position of the tension roller indicator "arrow". Press the timing belt firmly with your thumb. The pointer should move. Release the pressure on the toothed drive belt and turn the crankshaft two revolutions in the direction of rotation of the engine shaft so that the engine is again at TDC of the 1st cylinder. It is important that the last rotation is 45° (1/8 turn) was carried out smoothly, without interruption. Then check the position of the arrow. It should return to its original position. If the arrow does not return to its original position, replace the tension roller.
Control of the tension roller of the coupling drive
Mark the position of the tension roller pointer "1." Press firmly with your thumb on the toothed drive belt "arrow." The pointer should move.
Relieve the load on the timing belt again. Turn the crankshaft twice in the direction of engine shaft rotation. Then check the position of the arrow. It should return to its original position. If the arrow does not return to its original position, replace the tension roller.
